Rosetta Probe Detects Water on Comet

After ten years, ten months and four days of its initial launch, the Rosetta spacecraft has performed its first soft landing on a comet. The Rosetta spacecraft is a robotic space probe, built and launched by the European Space Agency back in 2004. The spacecraft detected water coming off comet 67P (also referred to as Churyumov–Gerasimenko).

A Dutch certification body, UTZ has proposed a new water treatment programme. The programme claims to purify water. Sebastián Mairena, coffee grower in Nicaragua Matagalpa admitted to feeling a little sceptical when he first heard of the water treatment programme. He said, ‘I thought, ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’.

Hazardous Water Pollution in China

The people of the Sahecun village in China are currently suffering severe health problems due to dangerously hazardous water. The water pollution has been caused by heavy metal, which is a result of a lead mine that closed down more than ten years ago. Villagers of Sahecun are experiencing dreadfully painful swellings all over their bodies. The heavily polluted water is also causing all kinds of other health problems, including achy bones.
